Borla Exhaust problem.. help needed!
I keep getting a rattling sound from my right side, passanger area.. it sounds like a rattle.. sort of like a piece of paper hanging out the window. I feel it at lower RPMs, and when just coasting, but not at WOT. I checked the clamps and tightened them, but I seem to still have the rattle. What should I do next?
This might be different, but mine made a noise when I started from a stop at around 2000 rpm. It souned like it was on the passenger side too. It ended up being that the Borla bracked on the pipe just before the muffler on the left was rattling against the metal bracket that it was hanging onto on the Z. I took off the bracket and now it sounds fine.
Just a thought.

sounds like exhaust leak to me......but should become a little louder at WOT, unless the engine is drowning out the noise.
The rattle is from the hanger just before the muffler on the passenger side!!! The hanger is just behind the wheel spring.
Get under the Z and check it out, you'll see the dent from the contact.
This past Friday I complete removed the exhaust system to make sure the alignment was correct and to fix the noise. NOT RECOMMENDED!!! The removal was very difficult since the pipes had expanded and contracted to a tight fit.
I didn’t take pictures so; I’ll have to describe my fix.
With the exhaust removed I attacked the offending hanger with my trusty Dremel tool and a cutting wheel.
The main hanger body is about ¾” in thickness and then tapers down to about ¼”. I complete trimmed off the ¼” piece. Not to worry, this did not compromise the integrity of the hanger in any way, IMHO.
NO MORE RATTLE!
If I had to do it again, I would have simply unbolted the rubber bushing and then trimmed the hanger. This would have been a much easier option. I just wanted to make damn sure there were no contact points from the exhaust.

I had a rattling problem too.
The left pipe just forward orf the resonator was banging on the M brace. It was driving me nuts. All the piping was fitted properly and very tightly too.
Too fix we lowered the M brace about a centimeter and a half by putting washers on two of the bolts between the m brace and mounting points.
No More rattle.
