Headers do show gains, but more so with a tune.

Why do you think nissan started putting equal length headers on the '07s and up? You got it, because they do make a difference over manifolds. ;-)

WTF? I think the mods should make a post count requirement before people can start a thread. What does that even mean? ur going to put aftermarket headers to stock cats to 3" y-pipe to 3" midpipe to stock muffler? IMHO AS$

From what I've read, the largest restriction in the exhaust system is the factory cats, and the second largest restriction is the Y pipe. Also, ideally all your exhaust piping would be the same size, or go from smaller to bigger (from the engine to the tips). I've done headers, and like the headers, but they would not be my starting point.

i think we are at the same boat ,i used to have APS 2.5 TD on my Z ,but after few months toke it off (loss power,drone,Rasp..)
now (in my Sig) i love the sound ,no loss power or drone BUT the RASP still there but way better ,
any how i searched and found : stock exhaust + HFC/resonated TP+ after market Y pipe (MD XYZ pipe / JIC Y pipe) = the sound i want no rasp no drone no losing power ,,, i`ll get the XYZ stright pipe ( tony from MD tested it and no rasp ,i trust this guy)
