Default test pipes and oil consumption?

I had the strup test pipes installed without the non-foulers (SES light was on) paired with my Fast Intentions exhaust. I started noticing that my car was taking more oil than usual. At one point there was barely any oil in the engine and i had to top it off with 4 more quarts and I had gotten an oil change about 500 miles ago. I dont see a correlation between oil consumption and test pipes but the problem disappeared after i had the test pipes removed and had the stock cats put back on. Anybody have an idea as to whats going on?

wow if you are losing more than 4 quarts dude that's definitely something you should get checked out be the dealership..

I doubt it is the test pipes because many people run test pipes and I have never heard of anyone burning 4 quarts of oil. I bet you have a leak or something..

yea im having the oil consumption test done right now. There wasn't any leak so im guessing it could be something internal?

I have serious oil consumption as well, it did not start until i got HFC's
and then it got worse when i got test pipes-i went to the dealer and they
said it is my fault-they said the mods i have done caused it to run too rich
and dilute the oil with fuel causing it to burn off. i have zero leakage on
ground or under the car and no smoke-it does make some fumes on cold
start from no cats. my car normally uses about 2 1/2 qts or more between
3k mile oil changes with amsoil full synthetic.
