No.
Even the test pipe version will probably be quieter than your cats.

Looks and sounds good solo.

4.5 inch tips would be awesome. That is the one thing I miss about my HKS, and rolled. It shows the ti color so much more.

I wanted to share my experience with Motordyne Dual Exhaust...

Like Rob, I too originally installed the Motordyne Dual Shockwave, leaving the stock cats though... I loved it instantly! The sound was exotic, loud and the car sounded amazing above 3k RPM range. I would always find myself rev'ing to redline just to enjoy the exotic race car sound...

After a couple of weeks however, it became clear to me that I was not happy with the loudness level of this exhaust... the novelty wore off, and it was just way too loud for my personal taste.

I contacted Tony to see if there was anything that could be done to bring down the dB level of the exhaust. Tony suggested the DUAL GAMMA (atleast I think thats what he calls it, correct me if i am wrong Tony).

Basically, the only thing different between the Gamma and the Shockwave are the two dual exit pipes that the Ti tips connect to:
-Shockwave --> Straight UNmuffled pipes, similar to test pipes
-Gamma --> MUFFLED rear pipes

I took off the Shockwave pipes and installed the Gamma muffled pipes. Right away I noticed the sound was significantly quieter... definetely louder than stock, but not as loud as the Shockwave. The VQ sound is also much better preserved with the Gamma then it was with the Shockwave. I love it! This is exactly the sound I was looking for!

To me it is a much more "mature" and classy sound as opposed to the loud race car sound that I felt i had with the Shockwave. With the Shockwave the car sounded like it should have 500+ HP... like I was trying to fool people with how fast/powerfull my car really is. With the Gamma, it sounds like a 350Z.

You may notice I have not said anything regarding power gains... This is because (at the butt dyno) I have not noticed any gain or loss in power going from stock to Shockwave, or Shockwave to Gamma. I have never dyno'd the car.

The last thing I want to mention is the superb quality of this Motordyne product and the AMAZING customer service that Tony provides.

In my opinion, this is THE BEST sub $1500 350Z exhaust on the market right now! The customer sevice alone is worth the price of this exhaust

my

p.s. i will try to post pics and a sound clip before i leave the country for 5 weeks on sunday...

p.p.s. Tony, +2143234656 on the 4.5 Rolled tips!

thats great. I loved the shockwave but after hearing people complaining about how loud it is, i wanted something softer. This sounds great. Will probably get this beginning of next year.

In for vids.

How would you compare the gamma to other exhausts that are out there? I want something fairly loud but its also a Daily Driver so I dont want the shockwave...Ive heard Injen is pretty darn loud and thats what I was leaning towards either that or the Greddy Evo TT until I heard this setup! How does this compare to an HKS?

i think youll be very happy with Gamma... its fairly loud, but not too loud where its obnoxious on a daily driver.... i really cant compare it with other exhausts though..

Is the sound of the Gamma muffled pipes the same as the shockwave, but just not as loud? Or is it a totally different sound?

Any chance we can get a video of your Gamma?

Yes, More vids of Gamma Please

I just want something with a deeper tone but still noticeable, the Nismo might be a little quiet I think I like the Invidia and Greddy but this looks sooo nice! I am planning on going with a Vortech kit which would also benefit from HFC/Test Pipes, so if I decide to go with the Gamma and some HFCs am I going to be really really loud?
