I just ordered my dual shockwave!!!! I can't wait to get it on. Hopefully the guys as the local Midas know what their doing. My only worry now is that the CEL doesn't come on, and that the dealer doesn't try to void my warranty.

 

Why would you get a CEL?

 

I read that sometimes the CEL comes on when the exhaust is changed.

 

Exhaust meaning high flow cats or test pipes. I have never heard of a cat back causing a CEL since the o2 sensors are not affected.

 

Thanks. That's good news. Obviously, I'm not very mechanically inclined. I've seen a lot of clips, and this exhaust sounds the nicest. (In my opinion)

i have to say with just the stock 05 air box i thought the exhaust wasnt loud at all, sounded pretty much like robs video.

I just changed the airbox to the 06 and it made a difference... exhaust got louder....

seeing as i have the resonator on the xyz, i guess it will get quieter after it breaks in, will have to see how that is.

but so far, i love this exhaust....

side question, when the ppl at the shop installed the exhaust, they didnt use the 3 bolts that came with the kit and only used 1 fibre gasket out of the 3... was this ok for them to do?

You don't necessarily need the extra bolts if you hook it up to the stock cats because they have studs. And you dont necessarily need the extra gaskets either because the stock cats have reusable metal gaskets.

The extra bolts and gaskets are included for the people who have 2.5" aftermarket test pipes or cats. In that case you need them so they are supplied in the kit.

 

Once you've got all the NA folks taken care of, don't forget about us FI guys!
