Question Borla exhaust installed but hear a nois after rev?

So i paid some guy to help me install the borla (40$)here at my house and after we put it down i went for a spin not sure if the noise was there before i went for the spin(dont think so?) but when i came back i was revving the car with the door open to listen clearly and i can hear a noise coming from the bottom somewhere in between from the end of the cats to the end of the H pipe.
The noise is right after i rev and let go of gas its like a spitting air noise or some thing like air coming out???
we lift the car back up and tighten up lil more and couldn't find the problem??
he thinks its the sound of the H pipe?? and that there is no leak and says that exhaust leaks dont sound like that??
I still dont think is normal..im thinking of taking it to a muffler shop so they can check i out??
Any buddy ever had a smiler prob?? or have installed borla td exhaust and heard same sound?? IS IT NORMAL??..

Any thing helps guys/girls I will appreciate it.
maybe i can save a visit to the muffler shop

Sounds like an exhaust leak.

you probably have an exhaust leak..

1. check that all bolts are fastened down tight
2. make sure every gasket is still in good shape (not blown/damaged...this may be the culprit)
3. you can do this by lifting the car off the ground and have someone revving while another puts their hands at each joint to make sure that no air is coming out
4. if none of these issues are a problem for you then answer this...
____a. is the exhaust new or was it used?
____b. if it was used, check to make sure that there isn't any cracks in the welds or that the flex joints aren't damaged

now if none of these is an issue then you COULD take it to a muffler shop but if everything is intact and in great shape then you will probably just need to get used to the sound since it's normal

I am have an 06 with a Borla TD exhaust. I bought it with the system already on it. I think that it had been put on right before I picked it up. Anyway, I had a noise to after letting of the gas. It sounded to me like it was girgaling (if that is a word) like it had water or something in it. Any way after a few days it has stopped and all is well now.

I know you want to place a lot of weight on a $40 opinion, but obviously something is wrong here.

Do you have rough idle?

It could be just how the Borla sounds because mine sounded like what you're describing but no leak.

The H-pipe has a tendency to hiss and create a VERY slight leak. Does it sound like a hissing/wooshing noise, or fluttering noise?

Hey I have the Borla exhaust with the same sound on my Z. Its like a flutter at the end. I am positive it is not a leak. I have put mine up 3 times to check and tighten and those pipes are as tight as you can get them. I was told once I get the new headers and a high flow cat it should go away. hope this helped you out.

If it's a fluttering noise and you can peg it to a certain RPM and hear it all the time, it's a leak. The clamps on the H-pipe are a little annoying, so I highly suggest moving them around to close down the insert points better. The hissing noise, unless very obvious is normal though. And I hope you're not confusing the fluttering for the burble of the exhaust.
