Default Stillen setup sounds bad

Ok my neighbor just bought a 350z and it has Stillen true dual exhaust, stillen test pipes, and stillen headers. He also has injen cold air intake, plenum spacer. However his car sounds really high pitched/raspy like that civic vtec sound. Would taking his stillen test pipes out and putting the catalytic converter back in be a good idea? I looked on youtube how stillen exhaust sounds and his setup doesn't sound nothing like them.

The test pipes are the leading cause of the rasp. I have Stillen TD Exhaust, Stillen HFCs, plenum, etc. (full list in my sig.), and I think it sounds fantastic with minimal rasp. If you want, you can do a youtube search of "onagao" and check out how my car sounds.

Replacing the test pipes with stock cats would reduce rasp, but equally reduce power. If he wants to reduce rasp but still go the route of test pipes, there are others on the market that get the job done.

Either way, I wouldn't necessarily blame Stillen or say the Stillen setup sounds bad.
