Default Problem after MD 5/16 spacer install

So i just installed the motordyne 5/16 spacer on my 2003 z and i am now getting a weird rubbing noise/feeling in the pedal. If i rev it in neutral it doesn't do it but when i put it in first and go to take off it sounds like something is rubbing but only under 3k rpms. after that it kinda goes away. And it also doen't do it all the time only sometimes after driving it for a little while. Any ideas?

How much clearance is under the strut bar? Open the hood and have someone rev the engine while your watching to see if the engine hits the strut bar.

When I put mine in, I had just enough clearance to slide a regular old BIC ballpoint pen between the strut bar and the plenum. This was both before and after the install. No problems with any rubbing.

I had the same issue with my install, only mine was the hood was being pushed up on the driver's side, i could stick my index finger under the driver's side of the plenum and strut bar, asked Hydrazine about it, and he suggested i take the driver's side spacers out.

I took them out, left the pass. side spacers in, now it's a dead even 1/4" gap across the plenum and no rubbing or anything, hood sits flush with the fender again, took a drive, no noises, rubbing or bumps anywhere, so i'm good to go..

+100 on the strut bar. Had the same vibe/growl, put the strut bar spacers in and haven't had a problem since.

Its the strut bar.

Refer to the last pages of the installation manual on how to adjust it.

Basically put a crescent wrench on the tensioner bolt and give it about a 3/4 extra turn. Possibly more if needed.
