Not true. It all comes down to exhaust and muffler design - there are always options (e.g. stock muffler, VQ muffler, XYZ pipe, additional resonators, etc).

No, I didn't think it would be quiet...just didn't know it would be heard from 5 blocks away...it's the dual exhaust by the way.

sounds like a catless 3".... Maybe a little worse. I think the fact its an auto kinda kills it a little bit. If it were manual I think you would think it sounded "better" at full throttle and not great under 4k rpm.

My last car had I/H/E and sounded like a small airplane taking off every time I drove to the point where I hated to go anywhere, I ended up having a muffler welded in where the resonator was (to remove the drone) and I bought the silencers for my exhaust, afterwards the car sounded quiet as stock but moved much faster. I'm sure for you the point of getting an aftermarket exhaust was to be able to hear it, but a muffler may calm it down enough to sound reasonable.

I know I DON'T want the rasp, nor do I want super loud. Don't get me wrong, I want to hear the car and want it to sound a lil mean, but I don't want everyone looking at me like "WTF is with this guy"...heh...

Greddys and HKS are fairly quiet when you're cruising, those were always my favorites.

wow... that was one loud Z. If you want performance and a great sound check out AAM. Im running their test pipes, y-pipe, and their single exhaust on my 07. I gotta say for a daily driver this set up is low on rasp but the drone is killer. I had to go back and get the silencer and it works perfectly. I love the way it sounds.

Thanks Black Guy, but I assume the Greddy and HKS are going to be on the more pricey side?

Just roll up your windows.

Seriously, that did sound really bad (ie: RICE). I agree with what some of the others have said, kick the test pipes to the curb. When I put mine on, the sound of my car was bad too but not as bad as yours ( no offense ).
