Default Cleaning the Injen filter

How exactly do we clean this filter? Is there a special spray? Ect ect.

Plus, is the only way to remove the bottom diffusers and plastic cover to reach it, or is there and easier way to reach the filter?

That's what I did. I just used a K&N filtercharger cleaning kit.
Be ready to do it a couple times though, It get's really dirty. Especially the side that faces out of the grill.

Also be sure to rinse with water from the inside- so all dirt gets pushed "out" of the filter.

I really would leave them dirty, they still flow very well, they tend to let dirt pass until they are dirty. Once they have some build up they trap dirt better, But thats just my 2 cents.

I forgot, Simple green worked fine, always spray the water from the inside out. I would be carefull with trying to use compressed air to dry the filter, blow also from the inside out, light pressure (high pressure can seperate the cotton fibers) and let the rest air dry. then re oil and blot. Also thier is a few biodegradable air filter oil that they use in motorcross that would work fine, also making it easier to clean next time.

I had a CAI on my last car. Cleaned it every 15,000 miles, but it sat in a more protected area. By the looks of the INJEN, I would do it more often. I used the K&N filter charger kit, but found Ivory dish soap and warm water worked better, and it is safe to use on the filter material. I just let it dry and then used the K&N filter oil.
