Default Tanabe Medallion Touring + Y-Pipe?

I am helping my cousin who has a 350Z project car. Car is all stock at the moment. Him and I were looking at exhaust options for his car.

Right now, we are looking at exhaust options, and I really like the way the tanabe Y-Pipe and Medallion touring exhaust system looks. However, I would like the car to still stay somewhat quiet. So i am wondering a few things:

Should i just replace the Y-Pipe? Will that give gains?

Or should i replace the whole system? Obviously that will give the most gains, but will the Y-Pipe alone give gains?

Anybody use these parts, and what are the reviews? Quality, sound, price? From what i am reading the twin bellowson the Y-pipe help keep the exhaust sound sharp yet not too crazy sounding.

Any installed pictures would be cool too.

I would youtube for video sound clips and stuff.. Thats what I did before I bought my exhaust. I dont think the Y pipe is gonna give huge gains but you might as well replace it while the exhuast is off. Look into HFC as well.

think about the size of your stock y pipe and the size of your aftermarket exhaust that you plan on getting...i had my 3in JIC TI on for a couple days with my stock y pipe which was 2.25inches..doesnt seem like it would flow out right huh?my AAM y pipe came in a couple days later which was 2.5 then exited with a 3 inch pipe...the Y pipe definately made it a lil louder but not too much..
