Fair prices for Injen Intake and Exhaust today
I've done a lot of reading here on the different intakes and exhausts people have been using and it seems a lot of members go with the Injen setups. I'm considering getting both the Injen intake and exhaust but was wondering what a fair price is. Especially since these items are now discontinued...
The injen intake would be for the non-hr engine. I'm checking prices online and ebay. Do you think $300 shipped is a fair price?
As for the exhaust, the SES seems to be more popular and there are people on the forums selling them used. Do you think $450 for a used SES set would be fair? I've havent found much for the titanium, so I have no idea how much those run for.
Looking for advice. Thanks!

To answer your question: "Do you think $450 for a used SES set would be fair?" or " Do you think $300 shipped (for the intake) is a fair price?" Well, was the price for your pre-owned Z that you bought fair ? I hope the answer is YES. I assume by buying a pre-owned car you took following into consideration:
1) milage on the car
2) paint condition / damage
3) etc.
The same/similar would apply to buying used parts. The milage, condition: damage, scratches, dents ...etc.
I would also recommend buying from a local seller this way you can see the item yourself and negotiate the price.
Hope that helps.

As for the exhaust, would you be willing to pay $450 for the Injen if it had under 7k miles and no damages? I've never bought used exhaust parts before, so I'm not sure how well the prices hold up. Especially for parts that are discontinued and no longer supported by the manufacturer.
Im not too familiar with the Injen exhaust and its value, but check if you can find how much it originally was new, and then see if you are willing to pay 450 for the used one. 7k and no scratches seems like a pretty good deal for me. I bought my hks for around 700 used, and it had plenty of scratches, but worth it to me.
Ah, good point. Well for the the intake, its brand new $300 shipped and I'm not finding anything cheaper than that.

$450 for Injen is a great deal either way if it is the track one w/ titanium tips or the one with out. They both retailed for ~$ 1200.00. The most recent sale before they were discontinued, Intensepower.com had them for $899.00 and $999.00 for the "TT".
That being said, what makes you to want to buy that exhaust? Have you seen/heard clips on youtube or have you heard it in person. People have been reporting powerful drone at around 2 k RPMS. People have been implementing an "X" pipe to make it stop the drone. Do not get me wrong, it is one of my favorite exhausts. If you're looking for one at a budget - you should get a good deal on them now since they are discontinued. Take advanage and negotiate.

With routine cleaning you can keep the outside of the exhaust looking good. 48,000 miles above. That's not the problem.
The problem is what do the resonators and mufflers inside the exhaust look like? Are they deteriorated? Rattle? Unfortunately you cannot see inside the exhaust.
