Default Looking to replace Tanabe Medallion Exhaust

I have a Tanabe Medallion exhaust on my 350 and I am looking to replace it with something that is A LOT quieter, but with respectable hp gains. I plan to install a new audio system (with 2 JL Audio amps) and I want to enjoy the music without having the volume **** buried.

I do have headers and Crawford hi-flow cats, but this very throaty exhaust existed while the stock cats were still on.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have a tanabe Hyper Medallion on my car and the noise level isn't bad at all, i'm thinking the rest of the exhaust may be your problem. You could try the OEM exhaust off of a Nismo, but I don't know power-wise if it's worse than the Tanbe stuff.

I may have to look into that. I should have been more specific as to which brand of Tanabe I have. It is the Racing Super Medalion.

Maybe that helps a bit more to answer my question? I was looking through the threads and noticed the Tanabe Touring. That seemed to be quite a bit quieter when I listened to the sound clips.

I see that you mentioned Greddy. I was looking at the Greddy SE Spectrum Elite, but will the existing mid pipe work with this muffler?

Thanks again!

The sound level really increases between 2-3K RPM. The youngsters enjoy it, but I can't even have a conversation in the car. LOL! And I only drive the car during the nice months and now I can't stand it.

Drone? Yes....there is a drone. Reading the other threads, I may look at an Evo2. I can post some pictures of the mufflers and you can then see as to why the noise level is very droning.

edit: But I still like the Greddy SE!

the greddy elite is the replacement for the sp2. they are both just shiny $700 mufflers.
