Got my test pipes last week from lsdunique. Look pretty good in quality.

First impressions-----THAT DAMN NOISE!
IMO it really sounds bad (only at a certain rpm range) but i think I am getting used to it. I do have stock exhaust and hopefully soon upgrading to Borla and really really hope this improves the note.
Generally its a little louder at all RPM's and sounds good *EXCEPT*for when it hits 3100 RPMs its loud and sounds like a damn civic coffee can thown in a blender. Its almost like a switch turns on at 3100 rpms and this loud noise kicks in. This lasts up until about 4k then it goes away and sounds good again. Im actually forcing myself to drive under 3k around people just so the noise doesnt kick in...but alas, im a speed junkie.
Ricky, is this the same metal vibration your getting???

I got this put on this past saturday and dyno'd before (baseline) and after.
They didnt even move it off the dyno machine to install these so the car never really ran with the test pipes for more than like a minute so i think my ECU or A/F ratio didnt have time to adjust. My A/F was at like 12-13:1 (don't exactly remember) on the baseline run with the cats (which i hear is right on the money), and after the test pipes were installed the dyno sniffer showed 18:1 (is this safe to drive the car this lean?). The Dyno tech told me once the A/F ratio got correct i would gain a couple of extra HP. If anybody else dyno's this mod before and after please drive the car or reset the ecu before running second dyno.

Now for the Butt Dyno I DEFINETLY feel an increase (happened to be after ecu reset later that day) throughout the highter revs. This thing pulls harder for SURE! I also installed a injen CAI and Insanes Gounding wires the same day (after dyno run) so that might also attribute to the increase in power shown on the butt dyno.
IMO this is a great mod and cheap for what you get if you dont mind the sound.
O yeah...it stinks too.. but the smell just reminds me of my motorcycle exhaust..its not so bad.

I am glad you liked the pipes, and those are good initial gains.

We are working on a version of pipes that will offer a more "mild" exhaust note, the noise between 3100 and 4000 has been pretty much the norm for test pipes.

Am just glad to see another happy customer.

"shil01" do you think you could post a sound clip? I have stock exhaust and would really like to hear what it sounds like with the test pipes on.

350zya I actually have movie clips from the dyno runs. One clip with stock setup and a clip after the test pipes install. i was initially going to post the clips in my review but i forgot.
As soon as I get home I will post both clips. To be honest with you it doenst sound that bad on the dyno. i think i will make another clip when i get home and rev it around 3k so i can demonstrate the noise i refer to.

LSD thanks again for the pipes.

As for the "milder" exhaust note test pipes, will these loose any performance gains?

Thanks for sharing all the info. I was going to order today, now that I've seen dyno #'s......Love how it adds torque all over!

But, I'll now wait for the "mellow" version. How soon?

it actually seems like it adds more torque all across the board then HP! I really want to dyno it again and see what my real gains are since the car has had time to adjust...
I will dyno again this saturday however its going to be after the Crawford *Bling* Plenum install.
