Default Kinetix Install Ques.-Gasket-

On the Kinetix V+, it says to re-use the factory gasket ALONG with the gasket that comes on the manifold....AND to use a silicone to seal it.....is the factory gasket really Necessary? And if so, why?

Thanks,
Keith

you would think that the people that made the plenum put that in the instructions for a reason. so i'm going to take a wild guess and say yes, it is needed. that is why it is called "install instructions"

only reason i used the silicone was i bought the kinetix from a member on here and the gasket that i had was destroyed, so i called kinetix and they told me that that is what they use along side the gasket, and in my case i would have been fine.

How many times have you installed a gasket, on a gasket, then used silicone which is basically another gasket...? Seems like overkill to me.

That and i have no clue where my factory gasket went after i put on my plenum spacer....
