Default Nismo cai filter changed?

Mine was pretty beaten up so I order a new replacment from my dealer. Got it today and it's gray color. Instead of red now. Also it dosnt have that metal mesh around it anymore. They said it's the new design. Did they give me some weird one or has it changed? It does have nismo branded on it though.

Thanks

likes like the new AEM air intake filter that does not need oil recharging like the old design. I've read on here Nismo usees the AEM intake filter.

The Nismo filters are a dry filter... no oiling at all.

Blow it out with an air compressor. That's how I clean my dry filters in my daily driver. You'll get twice the mileage out of it...

You can also clean them with a K&N cleaning kit. Just let them dry well and don't oil them. I wouldn't replace them unless they were damaged....too expensive to be doing that.

That looks exactly like my brother's AEM intake for his RX8. I'm willing to bet it's the same thing, AEM probably makes them for Nismo.
