Motordyne Product Help!
Today I ordered the motordyne, 5/16" copper spacer today... then read on on another website saying the MREV2 was the prerequesit to the spacer. Needless to say I cancelled the order and tried to order the MREV 2. When I went to order that the guy told me that is useless with out the spacer. Think I should just bite the bullet and buy both.
What are your reviews on these products? How does it change the sound and can you really feel the power like Motordyne says you do.

this is a very cost effective breathing mod that gives you some good bang for the buck. I found my thottle response improved and increase mid-range power. Please note that you only need the MREV 2 and spacer for 06 rev-ups. All 03-05's just need the 5/16 spacer.
you will need both the MREV2 and spacer to notice any HP and TQ gains. The time and labour to install just a spacer is not worth your time or money... get both and you will be very happy with this mod.
He will do just fine with just the MREV2. The time and labor is like 60 mins tops.
^^ I've had no experience with just running the MREV 2... perhaps you can elaborate for the OP.
I guess if your on a tight budget then the MREV 2 makes the most sense to buy first.

MREV 2 Manifold TM - The undisputed king of bolt on power.
A universal manifold modification for use on any VQ35-DE engine. When used with or without a spacer or aftermarket upper plenum, this lower plenum will make substantial power gains.
Multiple independent test show when used with a 5/16" spacer on the revup engine, the combination will add a "minimum" of 15+ HP and 18+ TQ in the upper midrange. Many independent MREV 2 Manifold REVUP tests have dynod in excess of 20HP and 30 TQ in the upper midrange and with high RPM peak power increased by 3-5 HP.

On the REVUP engine stock lower collector, the spacer by itself does nothing. It does however make good gains when used on the MREV2.
The MREV2 will make good gains by itself when used on the REVUP engine but the top end horse power is improved when a spacer is used on it.
The dyno plot below was from an independent test conducted by forum members.
It shows three conditions:
Baseline, MREV2 and the MREV2 with 5/16" spacer. It pretty much shows everything you need to know about the dyno results.

Just as a note for clarification: The spacer makes good gains all by itself on the 03-06 NON-REVUP engines.
I hear you, but it all depends on your objectives.
Some people absolutely require that extra top end power for race applications.
If you race, you generally need to keep the engine near redline for max power. In that condition, it makes a difference.
EDIT: Also note that the scaling on the Y Axis makes the gain look small. There is about a 10HP gain over a good portion of the race RPM band.

It may sound better as a short ram, but if you arent using a heat shield its losing about 20HP due to 150'F hot air ingestion.
