To those with the Injen CAI
I am noticing a squeaking sound when i accelerate at about 15% throttle, which turns into a faint squealing sound when accelerating evenly (with the windows down). I took this to dealers, and even aftermarket shops insist that it is normal. I don't think a squeak and squeal when accelerating is normal at all.
Am I crazy or what?

thats what every mechanic out there says... i hope it is *shrug* i think it could be a belt or something, but everyone insists its the intake... at WOT the sound goes away
sound normal to me. I had stillen air box, and now the injen cai, the injen makes the same squel on my car. I notice it most when im in first and second gear. I'm not worried, the stillen did it to, but only when i would blip the gas.
I get a hissy kinda squeak almost like a slight turbo BOV sound when I barely blip the throttle.
I must be the normal effect of CAI accousically ampifying the air squeezing around the throttle plate, like a sax, or brass instrument. Now that I think about it, when I installed mine, I made sure the tube was all the way against the throttle body, to insure a good smooth mating surface for the best air flow.
I'll bet the effect is more pronounced when the tube is in contact like this. Maybe pulling it away slightly will isolate the sound vibrations from being transfered into the tube, but air flow may suffer from the small voids between the tube end and the T/B.
I wonder if McMaster Carr has some kind of plastic pipe mating
rings...
failsafe, thats the best shot of her. I'm cutting diamonds, schwing.

I get a whistle from my CAI, did it start the day you installed it or later on. If its been awhile i would recomend cleaning the AIR FILTER!! But if you noise can be described as a HISS or whistle like i explained all it is, is the CAI sucking in air!!! Nothing to worry about!!!
