my point was, if you don't care about the gained or lost 1hp, why even waste your 200 bucks + install...

cuz id rather get both the headers/tp taken care of at once. I gained power from the cat delete, maybe on the headers as well. Plus to me longtubes made more sense, rather have megan longtubes than megan testpipes/headers.

Come on now! Nobody here is that dumb!

We all know this would only work for 07-08 equipped with bluetooth!

+1 We need dynos! I am thinking about doing it myself!
Doing A little research OBX has longtube headers with similar design to the ebay/megan. I know OBX are copy cats also, but It is hard to tell whether or not it is identical design as you can see the OBX one has welds on it.

OBX

Dyno it!

And with any luck your baseline dyno will be with regular test pipes.

The stock header is a double case insulated design.
The outer case is ~2.25"
The inner case (where it actually flows exhaust gas) is 1.6"

I'm resurecting this post.

So I'm ready to start doing engine mods to my TT car. This is a gutted track car so I'm looking for performance. So looking at Megan Longtube versus DC sports standard with test pipes. My local dyno guy says the Megan Long tube give the best performance gains. Does anyone have any personal experience?

Its a TTB car but will most likely end up in TTA after engine mods.

I called Megan and was told thier headers do not clear the subframe on the Z. They are intended for G35. Does anyone have experience with the OBX? I do not wan't to spend $2K on the SG motoersports. I also came across 5 zigen for $900.

I'll have to do more research before I buy. Long tube is what I'm going for. Anyone tried the OBX long tube? The Borla's looked great but they are not a true long tube...

that right there is reason enough not to get em...if they can't tell what it does/doesn't fit, and they (whomever answered the phone) aren't even aware that there is no 'subframe' where a header goes, how can you expect them to be knowledgeable enough to design it correctly in the first place? The only thing it has going for it is that it's 1. a 'longtube' (as if that means anything) and 2. it's cheap. Neither of these means it's worth it

a useful, intelligently designed long tube header is inherently expensive unfortunately (Supersprint, SGM, or custom) because of the time involves in testing/re-testing, and the cost of the specialty items like the collectors.

5Zigen is not a long tube - a long tube header, in the most general sense of the word, is one that goes from the header to the Y pipe (or H pipe, or X pipe, however your configuration is setup). It eliminates the need for a separate test pipe. But 'longtube' is a marketing term - it doesn't mean the tubes are all that long (in fact, some short tubes come very close, and some are even longer, than longtubes). You have to understand how a header works, and how they are designed, before you can decide what features, diameters, etc you should consider for a new one.

Hmm... What header would you reccomend for the best dyno gains for a track car?
