Hey everyone,just purchased an 08 nismo from my inlaws and i love it but it is raspy,I know i should search but these cars are new to me.It has berk hfcs and turbo xs exhaust.What could i do to rid of it,true duals or stock cats back on?Its driving me nuts.

 

It's your turbo xs, one of the 'raspiest' exhausts around... switch it out, problem solved.

 

Sorry for the rasp. I just picked up my 08 Nismo with 4k, I added JWT dual popcharges and this thing has a mean growl. I suspect the HFC'S as the culprit. I had the Turbo XS on my 06 and it was awesome. I was also running HFC's, maybe HFC's have a leak? Good luck.............

 

I wonder if the stock nismo exhaust section will bolt up to the turbo xs piping to help it,dont know if ill hp though or how the sound will be ill youtube it.

I have read the samething about that exhaust. The HKS Hi-power true dual has a nice mellow sound on the highway. Completely comfortable! But if you romp on it, it sounds great with HFC's. Aggressive deep sound.

 

This will likely fix the problem.

Jacked the car in the air today to check for leaks and to see if stock nismo bumper will bolt up to turbo xs piping and no go.Think i may either be selling the turbo xs setup or putting stock cats back on,wonder if i will lose some butt dyno hp.
