Is heat shield really necessary for jwt pop charger?

If i have oem intake, can i just purchase the jwt filter and not buy the complete jwt intake setup?

No problem dude.

If you want to keep the stock intake box just get the K&N or HKS drop in filters.

Will i still get the same sound from the jwt pop charger if i only change to k&n filter?

The heat shield is only a needed if you want to make any power with your cool sounding intake. If you don't run it, the car pull intake air about 100 degree's hotter(no gains), if you run it, your intake temps only run about 10 degrees hotter(than stock) with better flow (gains).
