Default Nismo Exhaust + Stillen Y pipe = cracked HFCs?

Does anyone have this combination? I bought a used nismo exhaust but it didnt come with the Y pipe so im using the stock for now. Ive heard stories about the stock nismo y pipe cracking HFCs and TPs because of the flex joints. Im looking to purchase a stillen Y pipe but it doesnt have flex joints at all so im a little hesitant about buying one. Anyone have any insight about this setup? Do you think it will crack my Berk HFCs?

ive heard all of the same stories but to be honest in my case, it quite the opposite. my nismo y pipe at the flex joint on the passenger side cracked inside, so i have to replace the flex joint on that side. my tps's were fine. so i would say you might be better off with the stillen y pipe

i went through 2 sets of berk high flows with a nismo y pipe and cat back exhaust, now i have berk test pipes and a resonated motordyne xyz y pipe and couldnt be happier with the sound, performance and it has held up so far knock on wood...well worth the money for that y pipe

bump.

Thinking of getting an used Stillen y pipe. I'm also concerned with the Stillen y pipe of not having the flex joints. I'm planning to pair this with either Berk HFCs or TPs with my Nismo exhaust.

Has anyone using this combo run into any issues?

JIC Y-Pipe is the only safe way to go. Yea expensive, but it's super flexible.

i have been running the nismo ypipe on my current z for 2 years. i had berk high flow cats for a year and a half of that. my car way about 2.5 inches from the ground and i scrapped my ypipe a lot hitting speed bumps and other things. i never cracked my high flow cats. ran the stillen ypipe on my other 2 z's also and never cracked anything. although the others were not as low as this one. i don't think you will have problems with the stillen, i would just watch out for big things in the road.
