Default Taking off stock muffler. O_0

I crawled under my car yesterday determining how difficult its going to be to take of my stock exhaust when my new one comes in. Its all relatively simple. Just bolts to unscrew. But, how the hell did you guys manage to even get your wrench on the bolts that bolt the hanger holders to the car? There is a metal plate in the way from being able to get my socket on there. Did you take off your bumper or something? I really don't want to take it to an exhaust shop.

There really should be a DIY for installing exhausts, but I found this thread by clicking the search option.

In the future I would suggest trying to search before making a thread. Most likely after 8 years of existence it has already been covered.

No worries man, a friend of mine helped me to remove my stock exhaust so I knew what you were looking for.

The best way to search is to click Search, then click "Advanced Search" then in the "search by keyword" box type in your item and click the "Search Titles Only" and click "Search".

Try this link and choose coupe/roadster ---> year of vehicle --->ex. (the ex. link is to the exhaust and just scroll down.) The trick that worked fairly well for me to get those dam rubber off was pbt blaster. Spray the tip and inside the rubber and just push it out. You don't need to take your bumper out. If it doesn't work then just try to use an extension and take the last two hangers out.

Easy , remove the two nuts (there will be 3 if your ground strap is attached) , slide the muffler off the three hangers. DONE

Lolz this brings back memories,. I never looked anything up and I couldn't get one of the hangers off for the life of me so I gave up and cut the sucker knowing that I had a spair rubber hanger... well when I went to mount my new exhaust I found out it was a hanger for the mid pipe which was the wrong configuration lol.

Anyways exhaust jobs are pretty simply, just straining more than anything... I kind wish I just paid someone to do it after, I was sore for days lol. Ugh I feel like I'm getting old.
