Default Borla header problem

I recently tried to install the borla headers. I was able to get the driver side header on with no problems. The passenger side header flange will not go on. The header gasket fits like a glove but the header flange holes seem to be off by a few millimeters. Has anyone else had this problem? I will probably have to send the headers back but I do not want to take the driverside header off.

ehhhhh, not good.........I personally would take them back, get my money back and save for something else. If you are having problems now, imagine what problems will rise in say a few months after they heat up and down lots of times. (LEAKS, LOTS OF LEAKS) Personnaly for the 8-10 rwhp you might get, it aint worth it. Just my 2 cents.

I have heard of this problem from some others on this site with the Borla headers. The only problem with sending them back and getting a different pair is that it may not fix the problem. Are you going to leave Cats in? If not you could get the XERD headers for a little more money, if you need to leave Cats in, then I would go with Crawford's headers which will soon be available. The Nismo headers are a another alternative, but for about the same price the Crawford headers will result in better gains. If you want to stick with Borlas then I would request that they send you out overnight the passenger side only and have them pay to ship the defective one back to them.

Pull the gasket and check to see if it matches the header flange by placing the gasket on the flange. Anything that doesn't match needs to removed.

We have fixed this problem. The bolt holes need to be drilled out slightly. Call us at 877-GO-BORLA, dial 0 and ask for customer service. We will take care of your problem immediately. Thanks for your patience.

I think Jeff at performance got more than 2hp. They will be a good cost effective alternative to others that are twice the price.

just get some high flow cats.. much easier to install.. you dont see gains from headers until you do something with the cats any way.

so high flow cats and headers will do much more then headers on their own..

Thanks for all the replies! I spoke with my distributer and borla and I will be getting a new passenger side header. The only probem is the down time of my Z. I'm glad I own other cars. The headers are not hard to install, just time consuming. I got the instructions off this forum and they seem to work very well if you have the right tools. Once again thanx
