Default Help choosing which exhaust system to go with.

I don't know much about what exhaust systems so just need some help deciding which one to go with.

I've been looking on e-bay because I don't really want to spend extortionate amounts of money. Basically I am just looking for whatever gains performance wise, but also looking for something that will sound nice.

Here are some I've been looking at, which one out of all the one's listed below do you guys think is the best one to go with. Thanks for the help in advance.

1. http://cgi.ebay.ca/02-03-04-05-06-Ni...ht_3126wt_1141

2. http://cgi.ebay.ca/03-08-350Z-Z33-ST...#ht_3314wt_972

3. http://cgi.ebay.ca/G35-350Z-Z33-Stai...ht_4271wt_1058

4. http://cgi.ebay.ca/03-05-07-NISSAN-3...#ht_3612wt_911

5. http://cgi.ebay.ca/Nissan-03-06-350Z...ht_4701wt_1141

6. http://cgi.ebay.ca/GODSPEED-CATBACK-...ht_4664wt_1009

7. http://cgi.ebay.ca/04-05-03-06-350Z-...ht_4721wt_1141

8. http://cgi.ebay.ca/03-04-05-06-07-08...ht_3036wt_1141

I think a couple of them might be the same exhausts but I am not sure so I posted them anyway. Which one of these would be the best option to go with? Also I was wondering I have seen a couple of exhaust systems with their tips bent in opposite directions, like facing away from each other at the bumper. Is that some kind of a special exhaust system? If so which one? I am interested in having mine like that, if possible, unless it's a really expensive system that does it.

You might wanna stay away from Ebay.
Just spend the money on something legit, not some ebay "brand X".

every single one of those except the first one are different versions or exact replicas of the HKS Hi Power dual exhaust.

http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/h...6-p-19793.html

they are all basically copies of that exhaust. the one i think you are talking about where the tips are facing away from each other is just the way the person that took the photo set the exhaust up, the 2 mufflers should be on opposite sides.

unfortunately the problem with most of those cheaper exhaust are that the welds are bad and the quality is just not very good so they will end up cracking and falling apart fairly fast.

personally i would not get any of those. i have been looking at getting an exhaust for a while now and i am set on a single exhaust. they are usually a lot cheaper than most dual exhaust which is kinda what you are looking for. plus from what i have been reading they will give you just as much power if not more than some of the better dual exhausts. also they are a lot lighter since there is a lot less material, sometimes 30-40 lbs lighter which is nice. only down side is some of them are a bit louder that a dual exhaust would be. might just need to save up a little more but you can usually find a nice single exhaust of nice quality for 600-750 dollars.

hope this helps

Thanks for the replies. That's what I thought first. As in it's ebay must be crap quality, until I came across this thread, which is made for exaust no. 5 in my list.

https://my350z.com/forum/intake-exha...w-hks-x02.html

People have good stuff to say about that one there.

Also about the tips set at an angle and not straight out, are you saying that it's just how someone took a picture that make them appear at an angle?

I've seen an actual 350Z and the exhaust tips were sitting at an angle and not facing straight like they do normally.

And then you get to worry about replicas of replicas

Buy it once, buy it right or just leave it stock imho

You are looking at knock-off exhausts. A knock-off is an exhaust that looks like an exhaust from a major brand (HKS for example) at half the price.

a. Figure $1,400 for a HKS exhaust. $400 for a knock-off. Someone is cutting corners somewhere.

b. Standard eBay profit trick. Exorbitant shipping costs. $230 to ship an exhaust?

c. Photos that you see are stock photos shared by sellers. What will be in the box that you receive? Do not know.

Is the knock-off the same exhaust without the HKS stamp? Put your money down and spin the wheel.

If you want a nice dual exhaust, buy the Greddy EVO2. It will cost you around $1000, and it will look and sound great! I bought that exhaust for 2 of my cars and liked it alot!!!
** And look in the marketplace on here. The vendors give deals to forum members!

Personally I love my custom hks single. It sounds absolutely amazing and gets a lot of compliments. Also it is very rare, or it is in my area at least. All you have to do is get a hks canister then go to an exhaust shop and they can do the rest.

thats sad.. i wonder how low the quality of an exhaust thats a replica of a replica?

leave it stock or do it right.. agency power can be had for less than 650$ shipped.

Thanks guys so I guess i'll be staying away from the ebay one's then. What is the most economical dual exhaust can I get, which is of decent quality as well?

Agency Power? Where can I have a look at them?

i believe agency power only makes single exhaust for the 350z. but agency power makes a good sounding single exhaust for around 700 bucks. i like My08smbZ's idea of getting a single hks canister and having a shop do the piping. would be relatively inexpensive also.

using something like this HKS universal ti carbon muffler
