Default JDM vs USDM exhaust system?

Hey guys.
I used to own a G35c in Vancouver, Canada.
My stock exhaust sounded AWESOME!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYuMa9zI0OY

Now I have moved to Asia (Hong Kong) where all G35 and 350Z are imported from Japan. I noticed all stock JDM exhaust makes aboslutely no sound ... at least NOTHING similar to the USDM ones.

Anybody have any clue about this ? What/where is the difference?
I still own a G35c and a 350z here in Asia, and I want to make them sound like USDM exhaust.

Many thanks!

It's harder to pass JCI inspection emissions-wise than it is to pass Cali/US inspections.

JDM gives you an extra 10 horsepower. I read about it on the internet.

yea emissions is a ***** in japan, most people don't like having a car more than 5 years cuz its just a pain to continually keep the car up to standard

Random post here, but saw a 40th anniversary 370z, and the start up sounds like nothing haha. At least you can hear the exhaust start up on the 350z.....

This is very true. I was in Japan and had to do a double take when a G35 sedan drove past me in a parking lot. Didn't even sound like the car was on! Maybe there's something in the muffler/resonator like a silencer or something messing with the sound
