Default Help me decide which exhaust to get.

Hello guys, I just purchased my 350z last week and I'm ready to make my first mod! I have narrowed my choices down to these two exhaust system. What do you guys think? This is the cheapest I could find them on the web and my budget is roughly $1300

http://thmotorsports.com/hks/hks_hip...-BN001-03-2007

The HKS exhaust is a little more than my budget and I really cant get use to that resonator thingy but it does look sweet!

http://www.impactracingzone.com/pd-i...ust-system.cfm

The Injen exhaust is $300 cheaper and looks bad *** too. Its also with in my budget. I searched already so correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the resonator look different?

hmm either way just get which ever one you want. Unless you plan to go forced induction on the car. Then you would have to think harder on your choice. Right now dont expect any big gains all the catback is doing it just changing sounds.

There's been so many threads on the hks lately I'm sure you can find whatever info you want by searching. like hellsoldiers said you're not going to notice any big gains, or any gains at all for that matter. buy what you think looks and sounds the best.

You may want to also consider the INVIDIA GEMINI True dual which is on sale for 835.00. Here is the link to their thread:
https://my350z.com/forum/engine/4986...5-shipped.html

Have fun shopping, let us know what you decide - also just curious about your comment,
"looks bad-***", which part are you referring to? Considering that you don't really see the exhaust except for the tips, I'm assuming your "bad-***" comments referred to the tips, which on the INVIDIA are burnt just like the two systems you are looking at. Plus the INVIDIA is less expensive and as stated in previous threads, HP gain will be minimal, but exhaust sound will definetly be louder.

Over the past 8 years Injen has had several varieties of the cat back exhaust. Looks like the most recent version has several resonators attempting to quiet it down a bit.

I was refering to the angle of the mufflers being bad ***. Im not really a fan of the transverse muffler layout like the Invidia and Stillen. Thanks for the link though!

If your thinking of spending close to $1,000 you may want to check out the Bassani. There are multiple videos on YouTube on the Z.

I have one on my 2005 and absolutely love it. It is pretty quiet low in the rpm's but at about 3,000 rpm it starts to get a great tone. When you really get on it it screams. There is virtually no drone inside the car.

Install was fairly easy with a few adjustments needed for a initial rattle. I think I adjusted it twice and the rattle was eliminated all handled in my driveway.

It is a great exhaust but a little more expensive than the average exhaust but well worth it and definitely within your price range. I get many compliments on the sound, most are impressed that it does not sound/look like a fart can on a civic but more like the stock sound but with more tone.

If you are interested check out the videos on UTube and if you want I can make a quick clip of mine for you
