Default New N/A build

Hello everyone, sorry for skipping the introduction thread. For what its worth I love the 350z and enjoy the show part more than going fast... So Let me tell you a small story...

About 4 years ago I purchased a 350z while deployed to Iraq... I had my Father test drive and pick it up from a local here in charlotte. As soon as dad gave it the OK I started throwing tons of money into this thing. Headers, Exhaust, Cams, throttle body, Flywheel, short throw shifter, clutch kit, body kit, bucket seats, lambo doors, and many many many more upgrades... Around 22k in parts to the additional 10k i payed for the car. All my money I made from deployment...

I get home from Iraq and install everything myself. Driving it for about two months and decided smoking the local mustangs wasn't enough... So I decided to head down to Zmax to do a little drag racing. Running at 8psi I was smoking fast. Got a challenge from a guy in a Tiburon. Dude was pretty fast but not fast enough. Raced him with a side bet of 2k which a mutual friend held onto. Not a big surprise I beat him to. I get my money not thinking much of it, drive home go to sleep.

The next morning I wake up smile on my face because my beautiful car is sitting outside.... Well it wasn't, only thing that was around was glass from where someone broke my window... Bad part is I had security on it and did it go off? IDK I had to park on the other side of the apartment building because their was no spaces left.

Yes I had theft insurance but it didn't cover nearly as much as what it was worth or what I put into it. Four days ago the car was found but completely stripped not even a door panel on it... Just frame and a roof... Cops did fingerprints and lucky for me they found TONS in the shop that had just been busted. Come to find out the guy I dusted in his tiburon was the guy who stole my car... The "mutual" friend was a "spotter"

So now I just purchased a 06 350z and I want it to last a while so I'm not doing the Forced Induction this time around....

I'm currently looking at a few parts that I just wanted to run by some other people to see if they testify for them from personal experience and that they are compatable with one another. Yes I know I'm doing just bolt on because it took entirely too much time for everything I did last time...

1. Kinnetix racing SSV - does anyone have a dyno result with a NA tune with this product?

2. Greddy Spectrum Elite exhaust... (I hope it doesn't have a lot of back pressure sound cuz I hate that popping noise.) If so got one to recommend?

3. Injen CAI (didn't choose pop charger cuz I want the polish)

4. Megan Racing Headers... (bang for the buck)

Now my final question what ECU flash should I get with this setup? I would like to go for more WHP

Delete this thread and go back and try again. You picked about the worst possible parts you could have to gain anything at all.

Story sucks man... I would have beat the pooo out of him.
Anyway, if your gonna do headers, just get the megan longtube headers if your on a budget, or go all out and get sg long tube headers.
All the other stuff I don't have the slightest clue.

Edit, And reflash with uprev's osiris

Didn't know where else to put it... I mean they are engine OEM replacements... Not f/I, or NOS... Where else would I put it?

And as far as the story goes I know it sucks... The first one I wrote was way better and took me about an hour to write... Then firefox 4 beta crashed ftw...

I wasn't referring to the story as sucking. I meant the whole ordeal.

Sorry to hear your story, that's just plain terrible. As far as a tune, I have a Cobb Accessport tuned on the 2+ map. It worked very well for me.

If your goal is "bling" just get a polished stock plenum, a chrome intake tube and maybe a RARE harness cover and call it a day. This would cost much less and be much more... errr... bling

For power? The only slightly significant power mod you mentioned was a reflash.
Intakes don't do much on this car.
Exhausts don't do much on this car.
Kinetix anything doesn't do much on this car.
Headers don't do much on this car (reserving the right to change my mind once I install my SG Longtubes )

Look up Uprev and Motordyne if you want to make some more power.

I was never tuned NA but with my SSV + intake, HKS dual and TP's I hit 254 on a DJ.

Yes the parts are compatible no that combination wont get you allot of WHP. AS far as tune goes i would suggest getting Uprev.

headers... Do some research allot of headers on these cars will actually lose power and are completely not worth the effort and dont change the sound that much.

You will find allot of people will hate on the Kinetix SSV as the original version did not offer good gains at all. the new version does produce gains and with the design gives you more HP up top but not soo much down low. I am at 9.5psi 445hp 395tq not dropping power all the way to 7k with it An identical TT setup to mine (jwt 530)ran slightly lower numbers and the powerband was about 500 rpm to the left with a stock plenum+spacer. I hit full boost by ~3k anyway though so Im not worried about the slight shift of power. I prefer having no drop off up top.

Well....If you follow Sasha (SG)'s progress, he uses a longer tube intake (Like an AEM/INJEN) and a properly optimized exhaust for very good gains. Headers will more than likely work better on a REVUP than a NonRev because of the larger camshafts (as proven by SG's dyno)

Don't cheap out on parts, do it right the first time, Uprev is a great program for tuning, and Motordyne makes PROVEN products that work.

Most importantly, set goals, and know exactly what you're looking for and working toward. It really DOES make a difference.

NA is tough man I spent a ton on: headers, testpipes, exhaust, popcharger, plenum spacer, clutch/flywheel, utec. GW kit, etc. After the tune I only made around 275-280rwhp on the dyno. So I sold most of that stuff and decided to go TT. NA is very expensive and doesn't gain enough power!

This is NOT a N/A build. The criteria for you to create a thread in the N/A Builds forum is "Discussion of specific naturally aspirated build & projects ONLY including Cams Pistons Rods, Heads, Valves."

Moved to the appropriate section.

i know it's your money and all, but you are busting your *** overseas serving our country, and your game plan is to spend it all on a used 350z while you live in an apartment complex with absolutely no security for it?

i think you are going about this wrong my good sir. you need a garage before you are making crazy builds.
