You can pretty much base your answers on reviews of any other test pipe out there. Plenty of reviews on here. Afterall, they are all the same thing. A straight pipe. Hollow metal tube. Some are just expensive. Like Mines.

I have them on and I highly recommend against putting them on due to the unpleasant sound it makes.

At idle it is very throaty and loud which is very cool and nice, but when you get on the gas it makes a weird noise, same thing happens when you let off the gas, it makes a weird raspy noise.

I would recommend getting test pipes with resonaters or just high flow cats.

Test pipes and high flow cats gain about the same amount of power IMHO. Only differance is price, but if you paid for a japanese brand then you probably paid much more.

Go for it. I've had mine (LSD's) along w/a Borla system for about a month now and the sound doesn't bother me at all, as a matter of fact I think it sounds GREAT. Others say that it sounds "raspy" between 3-4K, maybe but how long are you really in that RPM range? The only really annoying sound that I hear is the "whining" when a thread re: test pipes is answered!

THAT CLIP SOUNDS WICKED! I'M LIKE FAIRLADY, I'VE HAD THE LSD PIPES FOR OVER A MONTH AND HAVE NOT INSTALLED THEM. WITH SIMPLE HAND TOOLS IT WOULD BE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT IMO TO INSTALL THEM. I'M NOW HAVING SOMEONE INSTALL THEM ASAP DUE TO THAT CLIP.

For those of you that have installed these straight pipes, do you feel like the car is lossing any lowend power, say from 1000RPM --4000RPM.

That's actually the sound clip from my G35 Coupe 6-spd. I recorded that using my crappy laptop microphone, from inside Dyno-Comp's garage. My car showed gains from 2800rpm up to redline, but a slight loss below that point. Here are my dyno results:

I used the lsdunique pipes which are 2.25" diameter. I would expect the bottom end losses to be greater with the larger 2.5" pipes that some are using. Overall, I'm pleased with the test pipes, although they do stink while driving around at slow speed (e.g rush hour traffic). They are also a bit raspy between 3.5-4k, but that's started to grow on me. I was contemplating installing a different resonator to try to get rid of that, but am now reconsidering.

Yes thats your clip, and it sounds great to me. How accurate is that sound clip? Any chance you can record someone driving your car.

I put my mines in last week and OMFG, the car is loud as hell. This is with only the Nismo exhaust. I definitely didn't think it was going to be as loud as it is. I've gotten used to it and am beginning to like the sound, but the dudes are right, around 3-4K it sounds a bit raspy. I may take them out until next autocross season...not sure yet. On the funny side though, it seems that more cars are scared to run with me. I think they hear this wicked *** loud Z and it scares them into wondering what in the hell you have done with the car. Ex., last week I had an E46 M3 come up on my *** and then pace me for a light and when I gunned it a few times he made a point to stay behing me. Pretty funny 'cause I know he would have kicked my ***.
