Default Single to duel exhaust?

I'm not sure if this has been asked before, if it's a stupid question. Could a sigle exhaust such as a greedy ti-c later be converted to a true duel by adding another one later on? I am looking for a new exhaust, but financially a sigle exhaust right now is where I would prefer to be, but I like duels more, so I am wondering if it is possible to start off with a single and later change the y pipe and add another single to make a true duel. Thanks

By that I meant I was pretty positive it was asked, but I couldn't find it on a search. Since I'm on my phone that was easier to type

Could always have a shop make a custom setup for like $400 or so. I've had it done twice now by two different shops (first one failed miserably).

No. Components of a single cat back exhaust and dual cat back exhaust are not interchangeable.

Like i said before I don't know much about this, i just thought i would be able to replace the Y pipe with an X pipe or H pipe, and connect the rest of the two singles to that. Im not sure if im explaining myself clearly but im sure you understand what i mean. If it's not possible, i understand. It was just an idea.

Motordyne for christs sake, the Y pipe turns into an X pipe, and the muffler between the single and dual is interchangable.

If you are interested in a dual cat back there is no need to spend $2,500. Spring will be here some. Get tougher with new 350Z buddies. Listen before buying.

The XYZ pipe is the exception to that rule. It can be used in a X or Y configuration depending on what you hook up to it.

I understand what you mean but my the time he buys a motordyne ypipe with attachment then the single exhaust he coulda bought a use HKS lol.

If u have the money for a single. just get a NEW topspeed pro n1. they have a revised design and go for 450 shipped on ebay. Thats what i have. they are 3in and dual exit mufflers. sounds very deep and kinda loud but ive have alot of compliments and after 2yrs no rust or cracks.

Ill look into that one. I was also looking into the apexi n1, apexi ws2, most of the invidia ones, b&b, the intensepower.com one that costs 650, or the JIC magic spartan de type 2 sus. I can get some of the HKS knockoffs for like 350$ picked up by me, would any of the ones i listed be any better, or worth being 2-3 times the price? Im thinking im going to stay in that lower 650-750 and down range, or just save a little longer and do the motordyne shockwave. Thats why it appealed to me to be able to have a single, and then just get another one later to make a duel. its easier to part with 2000 over the period of a year or so than it is 1500 at one time.
