Default exhaust rattle question

Hey guys, I just got my exhaust installed and occasionally (mainly at idle) I can hear a slight rattle from the pipe being so close to the rear sway bar (already had the shop check all the braces to make sure nothing was loose), anyone have a DIY fix for this or run into a similar noise. I did try searching nothing came up that was close to my issue. Its not a big deal I can live with it, as its not all the time. Any info is appreciated thanks.

Why would you NOT return to the shop that installed the exhaust?

ya, go back to the shop.

I just crawled up under my car and shook the exhaust, found the area that hit and then adjusted the adjust so it didn't hit. It's a tight fit in there.

correctr, return to shop, adjust .

and if its OEM rubber hanger sag, try adding poly urethane hangers as i did.. they are a complete ***** to slip on, but the end result is an exhaust w enuff slack to move at the engine side, but ZERO tip movement. and yes, all exhausts are generally very very close to that sway bar.

the gap between my tips ( that sounds dirty) and the VS rear pan and diffusers is maybe an 8th of an inch. No rub.

I did go back to the shop to have them look at it, said everything was tight. I'll try and get under my car this weekend if its not raining and take a look. Like I said its one of those things I hear probably more than others cause I heard it once and now its stuck in my head, lol. Thanks for the info, let ya guys know how I make out.

quick update - I'm going to try using some exhaust wrap around the area of contact between the exhaust and sway bar. I'll update again with how it turned out.

have you spun the pipe up a little so the bump in that piece is straight up ? i have a good 1/2 inch gap from the swaybar and that piece, maybe a little less, but no rub.

I did this to my new exhaust(used heat shield from old exhaust) to go between the underbrace and the pipe and it worked perfectly

ya, they are telling you it's tight which it might be but that doesn't mean it's properly adjusted! i wouldn't give them business ever again.

Side question: Do you guys know how many exhaust hangers the Z has all together?
I am getting a new exhaust this week and I want to go with poly hangers. I want to know how many I should get.

4 i think total. 2 on the passenger rear muffler, 1 on the driver rear muffler and 1 on the drivers side about 2 feet in front of the muffler.
