Default ARK GRIP dual exhaust ?

so i love the exhaust, but it is RASPY as all get out between like 3200-3900 rpms...sounds like a group of *(sp?)* zachadea bugs hissing...
i've read this is because of the flex pipes they use and the ones of us that run test pipes?
so first, is that true?
second, what can i do to get rid of that noise *(aside from getting a different exhaust)*

i was thinking i could have pipes made to eliminate the "x" and the flex pipes.
have them running individually from the test pipes to the muffler section, no "x" or "H" pipe...

can or will that work you thinks? thanks!

the x pipe is there to help reduce drone/rasp. Maybe you should get the motordyne art pipes to help reduce rasp?

this exhaust sounds terrible with test pipes. Thats the main reason i would never purchase it.

This is common with all exhaust system for the VQ platform. Put a testpipe and HFC on you will get this rasp.

The ARK Grip exhaust just like the HKS, you change from the stock cats and it gets raspy. Get motordyne TDX :P

HKS has a Hpipe and ours have a X Pipe. The thickness of the steel is different as well.

so would running straight custom pipes from the tp to the exhaust not get rid of that?
i mean take out the x pipe all together and just have basiclly two single exhausts? i know that the 370z my buddy has is set up like that...thanks!

I don't run their exhaust but i have seen it. It may be a replica ( HKS and ARK are both dual exhausts ) but they finished where HKS left off. ARK's redesign eliminates what others had to do to their crappy GayDM exhaust to make it sound good. With a proper flowing X pipe they probably even make better power then the GayDm exhaust they modeled theirs after.

i have actually heard this exhaust as well. Of course with stock cats but yes it didnt sound bad. My frustration is they always post and say its not a replica. Im sorry but if they added and subtracted whatever and that makes it its own design no a knockoff then every wheel rep is also not a knockoff. SInce they offer diff colors/specs/sizes. Get what im saying?
