JWT Pop Charger MPG loss?
So today i noticed my avg mpg plummet when driving around town after installing the pop charger last week, i usually have some where around 19-20 av mpg and after resetting the computer thing, it was telling me i was only getting around 15-16 mpg and this is with shifting around 2500-3000 rpms....is this normal? do i need a reflash to correct this?

Maybe your average mileage was high from driving highway and you drove enough so it remained high and now all your getting is city miles with the new intake. Just a thought? Or maybe you love that sound of the air getting sucked up so you can't help but resist to punch it.

I had the exact problem too, but its no biggie. One thing I did have fixed soon after was I had to get my EVAP system cleaned out so it didn't hang up on me. (The evap canister purge control valve was getting stuck.) That can cause your mpg to plummet. Should cost about 50 bucks at a trustworthy mechanic shop to get done.

jwt works better than most intakes in terms of MAF performance, but its still more air in, and that equals a marginal amount more gas. Most ppl floor it more to ehar the intake exacerbating the situation, but even with std driving, stsill lsot mpg.
Also, you cannot use the cars mpg estimator as a gauge unless youre resetting it each drive. Otherwise its cumulative and includes your flooring it sessions w your new intake etc. Skews results.
Guys if everything is in working order and you take in more air, the ecu will give you more fuel at the same time.
Theres zero way around it.
I cant fathom what my mpg will be like w FI when my foots in it. Im sure it will be in the single digits.

This "problem" has been mentioned before.I noted no drop in mpg when I installed
my popcharger. My take on this is---guys put on a CAI,its sounds great---you tend to
maybe...give a lttle more pedal to see what it can do...I also installed a Berk Z Tube at the same time I put on the JWT.Maybe the combo of the 2 assisted in no MPG drop...dunno?

I noticed no drop on mine when installed. Maybe slightly better on the freeway.

Sorry for grave digging, but I just wanted to put in my experience.
I used to get 23~ mpg without the pop charger and plenum mods on the highway.
After putting in the spacer with TB copper cooler, undersize accessory pulleys, JWT pop charger, I'm getting 26.5-27 MPG on the freeway @ 75 MPH. This is at 2800 RPM holding.
The driving conditions are me going north on 59 Highway (average elevation incline) and overpasses every half mile. So I would say that if I were to drive on a flat plane at a constant speed, I would get ~28ish MPG.
P.S.- This is after getting an uprev dyno tune, driving it for 20000 miles, and then cleaning the air filter yesterday after replacing my valve covers.
P.P.S- This is with a passenger and a load of tools in the back (+220 lbs)
