thanks for the replies guys. and i will check out those exhausts thst have been posted.
I told you the process and so did Super black. Now Mid said THE SAME THING.

Just remember if you get titanium exhaust tips to burn, you will have to screw them on over your old exhaust because you can't weld titanium to anything but other titanium.

joker, i dont think you are getting it. let me break it down to you.

Titanium - can be heated and get that color you want.

stainless - can get somewhat a bluish color but it's the "titanium" look

your injen cai is aluminium. can't be burnt

if you get an hks exhaust, only the tips are made of titanium so you cant get the whole effect like amuse like you want to.

got it.
if its not too pricey i may get a ti. tube in a similar size as the injen and burn it. and if i cant afford a full ti. exhaust the hks with burnt tips will do. thanks for the help everyone.

It would be a it would be hundreds upon hundreds of dollars for a piece of titanium that big... let alone welded.

yes Sir, the **** I did was actually titanium. Thats Wat happens wen u put a flame to titanium..

Other metals will do the same but prolly not the look ur going for..

If its aluminum it will change color but this is something u have to be careful with as u will easily burn a hole thru it... If u were u id practice with some scrap first n get the feeling for the flame to metal business...

Search for my Ti thread n take it from there!

Good luck brother....

what about inconel? some companies use this for their blue tips.

Here's an ARC Ti tower bar that's been polished and then re-heared to get that blue effect again.

i truly honestly dont get this thread.

Its friggin titanium. You add a torch to it, it gets blue.. if you do it wrong, it looks like ***. The only thing that does this is titamuim, so no, your other options arent going to fly.

It is expensive as all hell, can only be welded to other titanium, and overheating aluminum releases nasty gasses that can screw up your brain. I can almost guarantee that the blueish effect on aluminum and SS tips is anodizing.

No thanks.

Id love to be the final person to have to mention any and all of the above. Can we do that>? haha.

In the end just to have a big metal tube that gets hot as your intake?
I think general frustration is the only reason we are all posting back in here.

if one more preson asks another "whos on first" question im going to pop. haha.

yep - when it's done to ANY other metal, it's anodized, and often, the really cheap anodizing that eventually washes/fades off. Depends on the brand. I wonder what someone would charge to anodize 1 single piece like this? Instinct tells me an anodizer wouldn't even want to touch a single piece order.

Even titanium pieces are often anodized too. It's way cheaper than heating each individual piece.

Inconel can achieve the same gradient finish too, but I have a feeling he ain't going to like the price of that either. Forget about finding someone to fab you a single inconel intake pipe

The piece exists in the aftermarket, in titanium as a short ram pipe. Don't stress over CAI vs short ram, it's the least important part you'll be buying for your car. Get 10 people together and I can see what we can do about making it sub-$300, in titanium with a gradient finish (anodized) - it will not be a CAI pipe though. The Amuse one is in the $800 range IIRC, the Bee-R one is even more. Amuse is anodized, the Bee-R is all hand done, hand welded, hand burnt (and IIRC includes a filter)

The HKS has the burnt look to the tips - that's all you're gonna get though short of a full titanium unit that's been treated to look that way (again, Amuse ($4k+), and a few others

Old thread but just wanted to add for those who are looking into this.

Exoticspeed makes an exhaust which is a ripoff of the amuse titanium one.
If your wanting the Ti look at a lower price point, I would start there.

As for those who want to look into torching SS exhaust systems. Just do a quick search on google. I believe someone did it to their NSX. His diy looks pretty good.
