Test pipes today are much more complicated and expensive than, say, 7 years ago. This is driven by customer needs, but also slick marketing. A quality set of $200 test pipes is a smart choice. All this sounds cool stuff is worthless mumbo-jumbo.

I have FI resonated TPs and have nothing bad to say about them. No CEL, and no rasp. They are very well made and have lasted after being scrapped on bumps. On the other hand, heard nothing but good things about ART pipes. I just got my FI pipes used for cheap so couldn't pass it up.

Really?
tell that to someone who has a TP and is not a happy camper.
Like you said...these resonated versions are *driven by customer needs* and it looks like (ART and FI) have fulfilled them. They cost more.... as they should, having resonators on em.

ART TPs and FI RESONATED TPs have very little, if any, RASP.

For sound quality, the ART pipes are much quieter and have a deeper note.

As for the gains, the ART pipes make significantly more low end TQ and a little more top end power.

More power, more torque and not nearly as loud.

See this link for several independent reviews and dyno comparisons against regular test pipes and HFC's.

Just installed ART pipes. LOVE IT. Rasp and drone greatly reduced but there are still a bit of rasp at WOT.

Can I confirm with you guys ART pipes are 2.5 size right?

I have stillen Y pipe (believe is 3 diameter size ) and kakimoto regu R exhaust does that means the rasp may come from 2.5 to 3 in size and exhaust flow?

The ART pipes are 2.25" and expanded to 2.5" just before the outlet.

Rasp is generated by reflections of shockwaves bouncing back and forth inside the pipes.

Going to 3" (or even dual 3") isn't a problem if its done properly. It depends on a number of factors. Muffler design being one of the.

The Shockwave))) TDX for example is dual 3" and it doesn't rasp.
