Question Yet another header question

Alright, I'm still weighing between getting the Nismo or Crawford headers. It may be coming down to the fitment issue, since it appears that both sets show comparable gains.

Has anyone installed the new Nismo headers and still have the fitment issue? Did the Crawfords ever have a fitment issue, or any issues for that matter (e.g. exhaust leak, etc...)?

I need to know soon since I would like to order a set and have it installed within 2 weeks!

Any of the latest Nismo Headers we've gotten have had no fitting problems that I've heard of.

Then I think I will be going with the Nismos.

I'd go with the Crawford headers and Plenum.

Default Headers

I have had both and I'm convinced the "new batch" of Nismo headers do not have a fitment problem now but the Crawfords never did!! They are both of the same quality (IMO) and produce similiar torque numbers above the 3000 rpm range! Before my next statement (for those that have brought this up) I will mention that my internals have been upgraded & I have 268 Tomei cams! Between 2000 & 3000 the Crawfords showed definite torque increases , as much as 38 ft lbs in the 2250 range! HP showed an increase of 7 to 8 after 6800!!

I haven't been in any cars with the Nismo headers, but I have the Crawford and there are no fitment issues, and they sound great too. I don't have any #'s yet, but will have some in the next week as I'm finishing off some final details for my car before I go for another round of tuning, I can't drive it right now so can't report any increases or what my butt dyno feels, but I have only the Borla to compare to from my last motor. It only took me 15 minutes to install these headers too

Bill,

Did you ship my plenum out yet?

Sorry about the OT post. I would go with crawford. Never had any fitment issues, they make the same (or better) power, and the tubes are a good length. Plus, you know that Crawford makes quality products (maybe not quite as high quality as Nismo, but as close as they can get), and they produce gains. Since both are KNOWN to produce gains, you can't go wrong with either, but Crawford has more going for it in my mind.

Dan, no check just cleared last night, so I was going to start packing it but can't get the damn TB off, so I'm going to give it a shot later on with a different tool, but it will be packed and shipped tomorrow.

Bill

Sorry OT.

MJedens --- how many hours of labor were you charged to have your cams installed?

Default ricochet !

My engine was completely out of the car & disassembled for other reasons so I wouldn't be a good person to ask!! I would give Jeff @ Performance Nissan a call ! I'm visiting my car again today ( local tuning shop that is putting my heads back on) and ask them what their estimate on time would be for just the cams! I'll get back to you! Mike
