Question 3" exhaust or 2.5" exhaust??

So I am going to be buying an AAM Competition Titanium exhaust. I can either get 3 inch or 2.5 inch. A lot of people have been saying to get 3 inch because better air flow, but I've also heard that I will get a lot of decrease in power unless I twin turbo it. So my question is will I lose a ton of power and torque if I go with the 3 inch because I don't have turbos? Or am I fine just getting that one. I am eventually putting turbos on, but that's not for a while.

Also anybody had any experience with the AAM Competition Titanium exhausts? Anything **** about them?

I myself would do 3" if going TT. But if the TT plans are a long time out I would just wait.

If you have no turbo planned for the future get the 2.5" Honestly 2.5" is plenty for a NA V6. Think of it this way:

When you think of a stream flowing in the woods, the flow is faster in the tighter areas and slows down in the open area. Same thing with exhaust gases, you want it to get from engine -> manifold -> cats -> Exhaust -> Atmosphere as fast as possible. So ideally a 2.25"-2.5" from the cats is the best for a NA vehicle.

A turbo is a different matter, it's a differently pressurized system and a 3" exhaust is truly needed there. (I'm still learning about turbos so no whacky analogies yet.)

Well if you look at Motordyne's set up, after the "mid" pipe part it's 3"s back and it still makes power NA. So I don't know if that helps you.

Get the one that is louder. HP gain from from exhaust is overrated.

all sound yes.

total truth.. hp gains on a untuned car NA are zip zero zilch.

it may not lose power, but it sure feels like it, and thats really all i care about. unless you had a sticker made of your dyno sheet and stuck it to ea side of your car so girls could see it at a stop light. haha.

jk.
