Default Tunnel Stay Bolt Broke

Just received my new exhaust this week and finally had time to work on it. I just removed the old exhaust, but one of the 12mm bolts broke off of the Tunnel Stay when I removed it. The other 5 12mm bolts, and all 4 14mm bolts are fine. I tried drilling out the broken bolt without luck. Am I wasting my time trying to drill this bolt out or will I be fine without it?

I'm not exactly sure what a Tunnel Bolt is. Pics?

I think he's referring to the center exhaust hangar. The one just behind the center resonator.

I think you need to have something there, the next support is the rear muffler flange. Before that, it's hanging the entire Y pipe from the engine unless you're still using the gearbox bracket mounts. Either way, there isn't much support there, i'd recommend you continue trying to fix it.

Its the 'M' looking flat brace. The 3 12mm bolts are right in front of the rear wheel. Couldn't wait so I went ahead and re-installed without the one bolt. I don't think it will be an issue since all of the other bolts were fine. Just wanted to know if it is worth my time trying to drill out the broken bolt, or do you think it is fine as is?

I'd say remove it and get that to be properly bolted down. If not it may/may not cause any damage. But better to be safe than sorry.

Yeah, that bit helps with side to side movement and support, i'd get it done.

people remove that thing for exhaust installs?

I have done a handful of exhaust swaps and never even thought to remove it. It actually helps when you are by yourself.

Wait, he removed it? I thought he was just picturing the location of the hangar?
