New Airaid Intake - Interest Thread
So my family has done alot of work with a air intake company called airaid
http://airaid.com/
they make amazing air intakes that see good gains and spend alot of time testing them and dynoing them. When i purchased my z my first thought was go talk to our friend there and get a free intake, they made the z for a long time and alot of people spend money on parts like this but sadly they never manufactured a full kit for the z, he said the reason was there was no market for it so im going to try and convince him to do a one off kit on my z and if the gains are to the z owners liking he may put them into production. Anyone interested ?
i would have to have a petition of forum members to show that we are serious about wanting another intake company for our vehicles.

ill shoot them all your guy's input he may do a kit with larger intake pipes like suggested to see more gains this will be a several month process but will keep you all up to date if the plan continues forward

Don't buy the performance numbers. All intakes are basically the same, give or take.
The AIRAID tube bellows out allegedly allowing more air to flow...hmm?
Save your money&time, slap on a Popcharger.

A N/A VQ needs to run 3.5 or 4 intake pipe. Even with stock cams. I'm running a 4" intake pipe, and that's what put my stock motor to 300 whp.
Where in NC are you?
If you have the VQ35HR, the gains with aftermarket intakes are negligible at best. The motor already has plenty of air inlet already and there isn't much more room left to improve. All you would really be doing is changing the sound. I didn't even bother getting aftermarket intakes; all I got is ART + Motordyne + Tune and left it at that. $300-500 to change how my engine sound w/ hardly any gains is not worth spending.
make a nice 3.5" intake to make up to the larger 09 maxima throttle body. Include a nice velocity stake and filter and you are set.
The maxima TB is atleast 5mm bigger and will work with the oem ecu. The LS1\2 87\90mm TBs have issues and dont work well with the factory ecu.

Yeppp
3.5 intake or 4.0 easy decision. This is on a STOCK internal motor! FWD too.
