Default Vibration - Invidia Gemini - 2000rpm

I've searched but have not been able to find a solution to my specific problem. I'm not too mechanically inclined so I apologize in advance!

Just installed an Invidia Gemini. Only other modification is Stillen Gen II dual intake.

When de-accelerating when the tach hits from 2000 to about 1500 rpm there is SIGNFICANT vibration/rattle coming from what I thought at first was under the drivers side but now sounds like my dash as the exhaust is now broken in.

When installed the shop told me I may experience minor rattle because one piece of the exhaust (I believe the driver's side cat) was close to the under body of the car (see attached pic), I'm not sure if this is the problem however. From what I read, fitment of the Gemini should not be an issue...

Any thoughts on solution or anyone with a similar problem? Thank you in advance.

i've never heard of fitment issues with this exhaust. my install went easy. unless the shop somehow got the resonators on incorrectly? if thats even possible. or perhaps you have aftermarket cats or headers that may misaligned it.

When I had mine it was perfect, you should try another shop maybe they can find the solution.

for the art pipes, there is a bolt on the heat shield on the driver side that needs to be shaved, or it hits the resonator of the art pipes. Could that be it for your case?

Look under the car while some one revs it for you to try and locate the rattle.

While wearing a glove if you can pull down or push up on exhaust where you think it's touching and see if the rattle goes away or remains constant.

haha. Thanks for the comments, I'm taking it to a diff shop as suggested and hopefully get it fixed, let you know what the problem was. There really shouldn't be any fitment issues as stated.

FWIW Gemini is a great sounding exhaust, my enjoyment has just been temporarily suspended till I get this fixed.

yea ive taken mine off and on a FEW times and im always impressed by the fitment of this TD setup. Its probably something regarding the install to be honest.

I guess ive been working on my datsun for too long, if it dont fit MAKE it fit!

I just installed this exhaust last weekend and Im having the same issue

I honestly think its a defect from invidia. The driver side flex pipe is jammed up against the underside of the frame/unibody! We reinstalled and thought somehow the driver and passenger side were backwards but they cant be installed backwards...

Sooo I puchased an extra gasket (from head to stock cat) from nissan, installed yesterday and it didnt help > SO frustrating!! Now I need to contact Invidia and ask wtf is going on

The stock picture on the website shows the flex pipes right after the gasket, not in the bend.... Weird

Mine are like the ops, flex pipes are after the bends

You can kinda tell how mine is different on the flex section...its straight not angled, and right after the flange for the "cats"

Maybe you guys got a wrong part# or they redesigned it???

They moved the flex pipe back in newer versions.

Yup just got off the phone with Invidia and its true, they moved the flex pipes back. If only they could have moved the driver said back 2 more inches!! So stupid.. He said to loosen the bolts, put a pen in between the pipe and the car, then tighten everything back up and ill be able to pull the pen out. As of right now the flex pipe is being pushed so hard against my car I doubt this will work but might as well try.

I wonder why they changed the design?? did he mention why when you talked to him? It really doesnt make much sense to me at all....looks like the earlier version (mine) fits ALOT better....the fitment on mine is flawless....seems rather stupid to change something if it didnt cause any problems...

Wow...thats crazy. Ya my shop had tried reversing them as well but said it didn't fit.

As it stands right now, I would never have purchased this exhaust if I knew this would be a problem...you would think they would have realized this before changing the design.

Yup totally effed up.. I never would have purchased it if I would have known I would ghetto rig it to make it fit.

I love the sound but is it worth it? Hell no. Especially with their 'fix' I think is just BS. Idk I really dont want to take a hammer to it, Its only about 2" but still!

Oh and the reason Invidia gave me was the previous flex pipes were weak and would crack because so close to the cat
