No more heat soak than any other intake, the plastic tubing is better than metal from that standpoint. It's not the greatest for the car to have the filter so close to the maf sensor, you can get turbulent airflow around it and it can make the car drive poorly and throw off the fuel trims a little, but it won't hurt anything.

Get a replacement pipe for the stock flex tube and you'll be better off.

A lot higher AIT then other intakes, you need a heat shield. Right now you are pulled 170 degree or hotter air into the intake.

Z1 may sell one now, i know they are working on one for their intake. Best way is to just order a JWT popcharger. Comes with adapter, filter and heatshield.

I think ConceptZ sells the JWT heatshield, which it looks like you could use in your setup.

where are you getting a replacement bracket from? I actually need one.

JEEZ!Just buy a Popcharger.By the time you screw around ordering parts, fabricating
stuff, you'll be spending more than the 125 bucks for a Popcharger. It prolly won't work as good. What kind of bracket are you ordering?

Also the filter adapter for the popcharger has a built in velocity stack.
