Question JWT Pop Charger - No Fender Liners

Hey guys,

I'm currently in the process of building my car to be drift ready, and I have found that I need to remove my fender liners in order to tuck my tires slightly into the fenders. That's all fine and everything except for the fact that I have a JWT Pop Charger Intake and the filter sits right beside the hole that is left behind when you remove the driver's side fender lining. Does anyone know where you can buy some sort of a filter shield to keep dust/dirt and water from getting into the filter? The tires are going to kick up quite a bit of dust and water. I'm sure some of you guys that are riding low without fender liners have come up with a solution to this issue. I may have to fabricate something for it. Who knows?

Much thanks!

I'd get fender liners, unless you don't care if your headlights stop working

They are the 03 Headlights, I've been riding without the passenger side liner for a good while now and haven't had any fog/water issues with the lights. The wires have been tucked away.

Make a cover out of sheet metal from home depot. Also if your drifting, you really don't want your car to sit that low.

The car will be raised a little for drifting, however when it's not on the track it will be low. The sheet metal solution is probably the best idea I've seen. I have also seen that Injen makes filter covers for intake filters that keep water and debris off of the filter. Perhaps that, coupled with the sheet metal shield will be enough protection. I just wish it were possible to make some sort of box that could encase the filter properly.

Put your OEM airbox back in and save yourself the hassle

I would never run it without fender lining though, damages the headlights too much...

Then how do the really slammed guys do it? lol I doubt they are using their fender liners all too often.

People have cutout portions of their fender lining that was rubbing with their wheels

Any water that you hit will go directly into the headlights, do you really want to risk that just to run that low?

I suppose I never thought about cutting out specific portions. That's not a bad idea. There's plenty of ways to make sure my headlights are sealed up nice and tight as well.
