Default Borla install question

Just picked up a Borla TD exhaust for my 03' 350z. It came off of a 04' g35, I believe the only difference is the g35 is longer, correct?

I was told I would need an adaptor for it to work, does anyone know if that is correct before I go buying parts I don't need?

Thanks everyone

The G35 exhaust is longer and uses extensions to run 350Z exhausts. However, the Borla part numbers for the G35 and Z are different so it looks like you're going to have to cut and weld your exhaust to make it work. I would suggest taking the whole exhaust to a muffler shop, tell them it was made for a G and could be too long. I'm sure they will find the issue during installation.

I just called a local exhaust shop and the guy was a complete idiot, he said it's impossible to run a dual exhuast on a 350z....nvrpgheanffmzcxvnafljlq.........i agree, i'll probably need to bring to a reputable shop to figure it out.

It may just be a matter of cutting the 2 pipes that connect to your catalytic converters 3" or so.

Yea isnt it just the H-pipe? The G's H-pipe is longer, you need the shorter one, or cut the one you have. Any exhaust shop should be able to do this.

Life aforementioned, take it to a reputable Z/G shop. They will make easy work of it.

All worked out well, they just had to cut it a little shorter to make it fit. Im a little disappointed in the sound. I like it to be a low, subtle growl but it's almost not noticeable at idle (in the car). Im sure a couple of high flow cats might do the trick.

Thanks for the help, I appreciate it

Glad it was worked out, but high flows won't make it deeper, just louder and crisper.

You'll need something like ART pipes for a deeper tone.

Yes, at idle it's as loud as stock. I have borla, i also recently put BERK HFCs and it definitely amplified the sound. It's the same sound just louder.
