Default Suggestions for an exhaust system? '03 350z

Any suggestions for a deep and low sound exhaust system? Which is the loudest: borla, hks, or magnaflow?

There are quite a few videos on youtube and other various sites with sound clips. Doing a search on here will also reveal quite a bit of info with reviews on all of the exhausts you posted.

For the loudest exhaust, you could always just use a coffee can...

Of the 3 you listed, Borla is probably the deepest/lowest. But it is also probably the most quiet. After it warms up, at idle, it doesn't sound a whole lot different than stock. It sounds nice and deep while under load.

Do your own research Joyce Feng. A simple search on this forum or on Google will yield numerous reviews detailing just about every exhaust system available on the Z platform.

Yeah, the best way is to just research yourself. Also taking out the stock resonator will add drone. Too loud for me though..

thanks for your help jerz350, I don't want something extremely loud, HKS is too loud. I just listed it to use as a comparison. I don't know, can't decide between the borla and magnaflow.

Borla tend to be deeper in their style, but i'm not 100% familiar with the 350z version.

Motordyne Shockwave TDX2 and ARTs will probably give you the most aggressive sound, loud, but controlled. Borla will be deep and the quietest, no rasp. But Borla's H-pipe will make a hiss sound during downrev's (when you let off the gas). Pairing up the Borla with high-flow cats will amplify the Borla's tone. But it will also amplify the hissing sound.

I have BERK HFCs paired with my Borla and there is absolutely 0 rasp.

You can eliminate the hissing by installing a Magnaflow X-pipe in place of Borla's H-pipe. There are a ton of threads about it here.

Keep in mind if you go the Borla route, it comes in many pieces and clamps. Make sure you install it correctly or you will have exhaust leaks. Also make sure the exhaust hangers have plenty of clearance. As the system heats up the rear hanger near the muffler can make contact and rattle.
