To answer your questions, fitment was ok, the headers spread alittle at the end, but was easily remedied. Never freaking ever had a problem with a weld. AND, no, there wasn't a proper merge collector on it. That being said, on my old 2003 DE before my motor build, when all I had was a God speed HKS knock off exhaust, OBX long tubes, JWT clutch, a plenum spacer and some intake. I made 273HP, I would have to dig up a dyno sheet for it, but that is pretty good for a DE if you ask me.

With mine, there were 2 pin hole leaks at the welds around where the three pipes merge into one and the passenger side was just barely making contact with the chassis. It's all been addressed but I did not like the fact that I had to take extra time and money doing so.

Worst of all, the headers made me lose a LOT of power down low and quite a bit in the mid-range to the point where I regretted installing them. Although, I don't have any pre/post numbers, many people have commented on my power loss. It only feels like it starts pulling harder than stock at 5500rpm and above but that's a tiny window when stock rev limit is 6700. This was with popcharger, mrev2, 5/16" spacer, and full exhaust. With a tune and other breathing mods, YMMV.

What power did you make with the PPEs? I'm assuming you're saying you've had both since you said they made similar gains.

Nope, I sold my car before PPE even talked about making headers for a 350Z. But I am a cheap skate. I hate spending $1k on piping... I wish I had a TIG machine sometimes

Oh.. Well you can't make comparisons to other cars results lol. Different cars, different days, different conditions, etc etc etc.

That is fair!! That being said, back then, the only options for long tubes were the OBX/Megan or the SG ones for $2k+ or whatever they were, they were awesome headers, but that is a lot of money for not that much hp. For 3-4 times that you could be boosted with a lot more hp!!

You are a wierd ****ing guy.

I DIY'ed mine for the first time in about 10 hours, but I've been working on cars for almost 15 yrs. Its not hard but like King said you need the right tools and take your time. If I had done it on a lift in a shop I definitely would not have pulled the motor. I did it on jack-stands in my driveway. Its a little tight in there but I'm 6'1" 275 If my arms can fit yours probably can too.

Not sure if this has been answered but is there a reason why ppe when with a longer collector and shorter runners for the 370z version?...I have an hr so I could fit either one

Just wanted to say, I'm currently down over the winter and plan on buy PPE sometime soon. I removed the stock headers on race ramps in about 4 hours. I would assume I'll need another 4 hours to re-install. No engine hoist or subframe drop. Also left the steering shaft connected. Anyone taking 20 hours to do this is drinking too many beers during the process. Did use almost every extension, swivel, ratcheting wrench and offset wrench I own though so tools are imperative.

So, I see that RDZ is no longer a site vendor. Anyone bought these recently and get any break off retail price from a vendor here?

Yup, I never messed with the steering shaft on either car I did it on. I am glad you dived into this and found out for your self, good luck bro!

I had to move and clearance the steep ring shaft for the install on mine. Not required for the removal of the stock manifolds

I will be pulling the trigger and purchasing the PPE LTH's. Couple questions, also its a 2004 base.
● Any idea how the sound will be with a complete stock exhaust ?
● Issues with connecting with y - pipe ?
● What power should I be expecting ?

Who cares, if you do, these may not be for you.

None

Some, but full gains happen when the whole system is complete
