When I inquired about this I was told that the 370z engine bay is smaller and the PPE's are shorter for the VHR than an HR, not sure how true that is though. In any case, I've only seen one VHR PPE for sale, and one HR.

370Z LTH fits on the 03-09 Z with no extra modification....
Also any 03 + header/testpipe configuration fits on any 03 + model as long as the header and testpipe are of the same year.
Example:
03 header/testpipe can fit on a 07 and vice versa
What doesn't fit is interexchanging a 03 header and 07 testpipe the flanges are different and do not work.
I however have seen shops redrill them to work.

The designs are a little different. The 370z tubes have less bends because the engine bay is wider. The HR headers are more compact. The 370z headers will not fit on the 350z HR.

Nabush, Tomei 264's. Power gains will vary from dyno to dyno, I've done a before/after with the cams and headers separately. Cams were about +11whp, can't remember torque, but the headers were +11whp and +25tq - amazing gains in pretty much every RPM range (I can't recall if cam timing were modified after cam installation, but my final tune after the headers had over 20 runs). If you are looking at cams, I'd take a look at this article:

I settled with 264's because I wanted daily drivability, I've seen some videos of 272's idling on a Z and it seems too rough to be a daily driver. I would suggest you get the PPE headers first, see if you're satisfied with the gains, and if not, consider cams. The cams themselves are about $700 to $900, the labor however is very long. It was worth it to me because I want to stay NA, but if it's power you seek, FI is the road to go down. There's only so much we can do on the VQ NA without pouring a lot of money into them.

Hi,
I plan to stay NA because i go to the track very often and i want a reliable engine. With FI 30min of full throttle laps would be too hard i think...
I was thinking of 272 tomei, because i don't use the car on the street very often..
Do you know what's the difference between parallel merge and spike merge in terms of performance ? can't find infos on the net...

I have no clue about the difference in collectors, I would email PPE and ask them about that. From the research I just did though:

There is something i don't understand...
Is stepped equivalent to "parallel merged collector" and non stepped equivalent to "formed collector with spikes" ?
If so the gain of parallel merged collector are only 2 hp in the high rpm and a big loss between 3 and 4K rpm ?

The parallel merge collector flows a little smoother and will give you a little more scavenging. Depending on what your goals are on your car, it may be worth the extra money.
If you are building a high-rpm Naturally Aspirated motor and trying for every last bit of power, the parallel merge collector will give you the most power gains.
If you are building a street car with just bolt on modification, the formed collector with spike would be good enough.
If you are building a supercharged car, the standard formed collector with spike is good enough as the exhaust is pressurized and scavenging doesn't make a big difference.

^ Pretty much clears up the collector question. I believe the DE's are non-stepped and HR's are stepped, except during that dyno the owner requested a custom-made DE stepped header.

370z longtube will hit the steering column on the HR. You can still make it fit by putting a dent in the header where it's touching.
Does anyone has TDX2 with their PPE? I'm wondering how bad is the drone with this combo?

So, for the one who have PPE long tubes, did you take "regular" steel or stainless steel ?
I can't figure what to choose...

I chose Stainless Steel with Ceramic Coating because of the environment my car will be in (high temperatures, high humidity). There are several members that have had their mild steel coated headers for years with little issues - refer to post #1292, where there is a bit of rust at the flange and bends. I believe he's had them for 2+ years now.
