Heat cracks on nismo s-tune tips
Hey all, I was cleaning my car today and noticed there is a perfect circular crack on both my tips. It looks normal except for the left tip does not have the crack on top. This leads me to believe the tips never had a separation at the end of the tips, but to be honest I never noticed it until now, so I dont know if they were always like that. I never hit them btw. Any ideas or experiences?
My car is a 08 with 35k, the exhaust was purchased new and installed by the dealer about 2 years ago.
I will try to take pictures tomorrow.

Wow that's really strange, my s tune has had a few owners and has no signs of cracking like that, still looks brand new when I clean it up, I would check on some kind of warranty or something
Thanks for the responses. Technically I have a 3 year warranty but I'm not sure if this will be covered since the damage seems minimal.
Kingbaby, I am 100% sure I never backed them up into anything. I am VERY careful with my car.
This sucks because I love my exhaust and hate to see something like this happen.

Okay as of now my options are either buy another nismo exhaust or keep mine as is. I do not want to cut my exhaust and weld new tips or anything like that.
I am trying to make a claim with Nissan saying it is a defective part for them to cover it, but I am not sure how that will go. My point to them is that it is stainless steel so it should technically last forever, and I never hit it so the part should not fail, whether before or after the warranty expired.

Maybe someone hit you? I honestly cant tell, but from the pics it just looks like cracked plating. Also the tips do not see that high of a temp for SS (is it really SS?) to even begin to go through enough thermal cycling and when combined with little structural load, its is highly unlikely that would occur. Youre' better off leaving it alone, or hacking it up. Its too much of a ***** to sell and buy another one.
After further review, I dont think it was hit, since there is no damage on the face of the tip or the bottom, so no indication of it being tapped. I am still at a loss for why this happened.
