Well the day I see a dyno sheet showing higher numbers with a stock airbox vs the popcharger I'll be happy to. Most evidence I've seen suggests otherwise.
From what I've seen, the 2006 airbox is superior to the earlier models. It doesn't ingest any hot engine air, which is the main drawback of a lot of intakes.

At the same time, though, I was running 14:1 AFR after doing plenum spacer, hi flow cats, and catback. That's a little lean and ignition timing was not optimal. ECU can only do so much, and usually the most changes are at part throttle, not full throttle.

no doubt … but I believe the OP is considering a cat-back and/or an intake…no plenum, no test pipes, etc
back in 2007 (with my 2003 DE motor) with a AEM intake and a stillen cat back, I was at 246whp and my AF was just fine. Sure, there are many many variables...
