Default MTD 5/16 plenum spacer installed but no power gain?

Hi guys,
has anyone else experience this? It's so strange, I read everywhere that DE engine benefits noticeable gain with installed plenum spacer. But, my engine apparently does not .

It's MY2005 NonRevup, with basic breathing mods: JWT pop charger, de-cat with test pipes and dialed 12,6 AFR on WOT with Uprev Tuner.

I made two 0-60mph WOT logs, one before and one after installing MTD 5/16 plenum spacer. According to the log's there's no significant raise in air mass entering to the engine, no higher injector duty cycle, AFR still dialed at the right point.. basically I see no gain with it. All I get is nastier engine growl, that's it .

It's not leaking. What else can be defective on it?

Its not defective, they ALWAYS make the gain but to measure the power gain the best way to objectively quantify the gain is to install it while on the dyno.

The spacer makes about 10-14 HP. This is about a 4% gain and it happens near the peak of the power curve. A car is raced through this part of the curve only part of the time. So you are looking at a cumulative averaging of the 4%.

You won't see it in a race unless you are staying close to the power peak and as for injectors its unlikely to be seen.

But either way its making 10-14 HP. Guaranteed.

If it helps, I installed my spacer and didn't notice any gain at first. It actually felt slower. But after about 3 days of driving it around i floored it and completely felt the upper power gain. The computer just needs some time to adjust.

The engine is able to run smoother and breathe more easily, particularly in the 4k-6.5k range, mine was breathless beforehand at those revs.
