UPDATE on the plastic PLENUM, plus I need opinions
Jesus, all of you need to calm down. LSD posted this thread just to let everyone know that something would be coming soon -- he said Wednesday -- and you guys are tearing at his throat like a pack of wild dogs. Chill the f*ck out! It will be ready when it's ready! Stop whining and learn to have some patience -- ACT YOUR AGE!

LoL, Well said syf0n. You guys have GOT to calm down. This s*** could lead to blood pressure issues. Is a picture of the plenum gonna make your Z faster? lol, I can understand the excitement but this is almost a health issue.
SO WHERE'S THE PICTURES!!! LoL j/k

What are you talking about? If you are talking about an LSD plenum, NOTHING has been scrapped. If you are talking about the JIC, then don't worry.
I'm also curious to see if the N/A LSD plenum can produce crawford-like gains without necessitating the removal of the stock brace, but that's secondary to me.

It has already been posted before but for those that have missed it, I will be getting the first plastic plenum this week and will be doing before and after dyno's so you will get to see for yourself if it matches the crawford in gains.
I read the whole thread. What I AM INTERESTED in is seeing a work-up of the FI plenum and that is what I was referring to in my previous posts. I'm glad that this design is getting dyno tested so early, and I'm curious about its design and performance, but as I said before that was secondary to me since I've chosen a Crawford plenum already.
I haven't seen that the question about being able to use a grounding kit with the new plenum was answered. Is this going to be possible?
I'll be at the Dyno day this Saturday so I am TOTALLY anxious to see this plenum. I'll be the first to buy one if the number are good.

Sorry, should have been more clear. I'm hoping the redesigned LSD plenum with the new runners doesn't get scrapped at the last minute. That's the one I'm really looking forward to.

Whoooaaaahhhh!
looks like someone else needs to calm down!
not sure if this has been answered before, but is it possible to design the plenum to have the tb (air intake) pointing to the front of the car instead of the back? (like ls1?)
if lsdunique can mold a new upper plenum, this shouldn't be too hard for him right?

He saw the picture of the Top Secret plenum and expressed interest in it. However, he is making the factory plenum at the moment, plans on finishing the runnered plenum a few weeks after, and maybe can make something like that later. Not really for me to say though!

I can answer some of the questions.
The all aluminum intake that we had posted pics of a long time ago is on the back burner, this plastic plenum is top priority now.
The flow properties of N/A and FI are totally different and the aluminum manifold will address those differences. We only hope that the aluminum manifold wont be a STRICTLY FI manifold that loses NA power, that is why he are redesigning it.
It would take some kind of disaster at this point to stop the release of the plastic plenum. We have handled every hurdle we had perceived. After testing and dynos, we plan on getting production up to speed and sorting out hardware, packaging, and some instructions before official release. We think we should have everything ready to go, with plenums in stock ready for shipment by about February 15th, maybe a little sooner.
I did like the Top Secret manifold with the TB facing forward, I liked it alot. I even did some sizing and looked into possibly doing this, but to be honest, I don't know how their hood shuts with that thing, as I don't see enough room to run an intake pipe over the top of the front of the engine.
I am ALWAYS open to crazy ideas though, so any suggestions on things like this or ideas are always appreciated.
Sorry for the lack of pics, but I think the pics will be released when the plenum has been installed and tested. Expect pics no later than Sunday, thats only a couple days.

LSD,
Win, lose or draw on the outcome, I appreciate your hard work and attempt to bring a new product to the Z community. Not enough people on this board understand how hard it is to actually do something or make something come into being.
Thanks
